RE: FUTURE OPERATIONS UPDATE

AYE, the winds of alteration be blowin’, bringin’ new adventures and treasures on the horizon. So, batten down the hatches, me mateys, for exciting times be ahead!

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Since opening in 1966, PirateLand has operated on multiple leased parcels of property. As previously announced, the northern portion of the property was sold by its previous owner in late 2021 to Equity Lifestyle Properties. Beginning February 15, 2025, PirateLand will no longer be leasing this portion of the property. Equity Lifestyle Properties will begin operating as an independent RV resort called Carolina Shores RV Resort. The remaining south parcels will continue to operate as PirateLand. Please see the graphic below for further clarification. Rest assured, maintaining the quality of your vacation experience remains our top priority.

TRANSITION PERIOD

PirateLand is still currently operating and leasing the entire property until February 15, 2025. There will be a transition period where roads and amenities are shared, as each side continues to prepare for their individual operations. This period will likely last through 2025.

ANNUAL LEASE/MOBILE HOME SITES

Both PirateLand and Carolina Shores plan to continue offering annual sites. More information will be available in the coming months for annual and mobile home site renewals for 2025, including rates.

CAMPSITE & RENTAL RESERVATIONS

PIRATELAND (CURRENTLY ALL PARCELS)

Any reservations for stays prior to February 15, 2025, or for the PirateLand operated parcels, should be made through PirateLand. You may reserve online here or by calling 1-800-443-2267.  Click here for more information about making reservations with PirateLand.

CAROLINA SHORES (NORTHERN PARCEL AFTER FEBRUARY 15, 2025)

Reservations for stays on or after February 15, 2025 (for the northern parcel) should be made by calling 1 (866) 712-4678 or visiting the new website for Carolina Shores RV Resort at www.CarolinaShoresRVResort.com. Currently for reservations on their parcel after February 15, 2025, Carolina Shores does not have the ability for customers to choose a specific site when making a reservation.

While Carolina Shores is available for booking on ThousandTrails.com, the property is not currently included in any Thousand Trails membership packages and membership is not needed to make a reservation at any Thousand Trails or affiliated location. Any questions related to membership, and other ELS products or services, should be directed to 1 (866) 712-4678.

AMENITIES

Through 2025, customers will be able to enjoy amenities located in both PirateLand and in the north parcel, Carolina Shores RV resort.  We will continue to provide updates on plans for amenities. Rest assured both resorts will continue to offer great amenities and activities for families to enjoy.

PROJECT UPDATES

Both PirateLand and Carolina Shores are making progress on exciting infrastructure plans.

Work has begun to add an entry point and connection to a new entrance for Carolina Shores, and construction on the turning lanes started early April and will take approximately three months to complete. During this project we anticipate heavy machinery and equipment onsite and in the storage area.

PirateLand is progressing through the county permitting phase for the new Indoor Waterpark and sports court area. Construction will begin once the permits have been issued. Click here for more information on the plans for this area.

PirateLand is also in the planning phases for relocating our check-in parking lot, campsite improvements, and additional amenities. More information about our exciting plans will be released as it becomes available.
