BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Since opening in 1966, PirateLand has operated on multiple leased parcels of property. As previously announced, the northern portion of the property was sold by its previous owner in late 2021 to Equity Lifestyle Properties. PirateLand is no longer leasing this portion of the property as of February 15, 2025. The remaining south parcels are still operating as PirateLand. Please see the graphic below for further clarification. Rest assured, maintaining the quality of your vacation experience remains our top priority.

TRANSITION PERIOD
There will be a transition period where roads and amenities are shared, as each side continues to prepare for their individual operations. This period will last through 2025. Please read below for more information about amenities.

2025 PirateLand Map Now Available!
AMENITIES/OPERATION UPDATES
Through 2025, customers will be able to enjoy amenities located in both PirateLand and Carolina Shores RV Resort. We will continue to provide updates on plans for amenities. Rest assured both resorts will continue to offer great amenities and activities for families to enjoy.
Currently, all guests are welcomed through the PirateLand entrance gate. The PirateLand office building now includes a store area. We will continue to have family activities and worship services at the outdoor chapel. Please visit our activities schedule for more information on planned activities. The Cruise In, July 4th Parade, and some Halloween weekend events will be hosted by both resorts.
Golf cart rentals for PirateLand site guests will be handled in the PirateLand Office building.
The Carolina Shores team have an office at the entrance (golf cart rental building) and the former Rec Room. The opening of the Carolina Shores store is planned for early spring. The Arcade/Snack Bar building will have new operators for both food, and arcade games when they re-open for the 2025 season. The target date for the opening of the outdoor pools has previously been April 1st (or by Easter weekend) when PirateLand was operating it. These amenities will now be operated by the Carolina Shores Team.
PROJECT UPDATES
Both PirateLand and Carolina Shores are making progress on exciting infrastructure plans.
Work to add an entry point and connection to a new entrance for Carolina Shores, and construction on the turning lanes, is ongoing. During this project we anticipate heavy machinery and equipment onsite and in the storage area. The overflow parking area will be limited to guests’ cars/trucks only.
PirateLand is adding an Indoor Waterpark. Construction is underway and moving along. Completion date is TBD and we are hopeful for fall 2025. Click here for more information on the plans for this area.
PirateLand is also in the planning phases for relocating our entrance sign and check-in parking lot, campsite improvements, and additional amenities. More information about our exciting plans will be released as it becomes available.
