Seasonal Information
Learn the seasonal “Ins & Outs” at Pirateland Family Camping Resort
"IN" SEASON - SUMMER & HOLIDAY WEEKENDS
During the "IN" season, generally all amenities are open (except winter holidays). Click here for more information about our recreational amenities or click here for more information about our facilities. The busiest part of the summer is about mid June to mid August, and holiday weekends. We can take reservations up to one year in advance and we suggest reserving as early as possible. You could expect the campground to be near/at full capacity. The month of September generally has wonderful weather and our occupancy has significantly increased over the past several years.
The campground is very busy and there are A LOT of people. At our busiest, there may be more than 50 people per acre in the park. This creates traffic, noise, and activity. Roads may be difficult to navigate because of people cruising, children riding around on bicycles, people walking along the roads, and sites being occupied to the maximum with campers and cars, etc. Most sites will accommodate one camping unit, one vehicle and up to five people comfortably. Anything more will vary from site to site and be subject to additional fees. In consideration of all guests' comfort we ask that you adhere to your site's perimeter. Click here for information regarding visitors and parking.
Quiet time is 11pm and we ask that everyone to be back on their sites at that time. The oceanfront area and main roads are the busiest at night in the summer, If you have small children or need to be asleep before 11pm you may consider reserving in the inland area or at least away from any main roads. While we ask guests to be courteous of others, everyone has their own idea of fun. Click here for a complete list of yeas and nays and make sure you follow them so your vacation doesn’t get cut short!
"OFF" SEASON - FALL, WINTER, & SPRING (EXCEPT HOLIDAY WEEKENDS)
During the "Off" Season some amenities may be limited or closed. Click here for more information about our recreational amenities or click here for more information about our facilities.
The campground is more relaxed when most kids are in school. At our quietest time in the winter, there may be as few as 4 people per acre. Our activities are geared more toward adults. This is also the time of year when we focus on improvements and park projects which means there may be construction or maintenance going on and some services may not be available. We do our best to minimize inconvenience to guests.
While people still cruise the oceanfront area during the evenings, there are not as many, so it is not as loud as summer. If any noise or traffic may bother you, you should consider staying in an area other than the oceanfront and be sure to ask upon check-in if there are any areas under construction.
Please note: This info is meant to be a guideline to help guests prepare for what to expect. It is subject to change and there are always exceptions. Sometimes isolated issues may arise that will conflict with what we have described above. We want guests to have fun! We also want everyone to be safe and comfortable so please be courteous of others and the property. Reservations are always suggested because certain site areas may be full regardless of the time of year. Weekends are generally busier than week nights.
